During the weekend of April 23^rd,2010 to April 25^th,2010 Scouting Aruba organized CANASA 2010.

CANASA means Campamento Nacional Scouting Aruba ( National Camp Scouting Aruba )

This camp took place in front of the Neptali Henriquez Park. 160 members of Scouting Aruba participated at this camp. The camp was dedicated to Mr.Fernando Kock and Ben Broekman.During the first night after the opening the participants enjoyed a trial walk with questions in the city .The following day the participants went to the eastern part of the island where there several activities as exploring the fosfat mines ,rappelling,shooting with air rifles ,archery and nature walk.During the afternoon hours the participants enjoyed a moment at the beach.During the night hours it was quiz night and afterwards a DJ played music which the particioants and leaders enjoyed.Sunday was refletion moment and also the closing ceremony of this camp

Saint George celebration

On 23 April 2010 Scouting Aruba celebrated Saint George Day.

At the Plaza Wilhelmina the ceremony began with the presentation of the Aruban Post who honored the request of Scouting Aruba with the issue of a set of stamps dedicated to Scouting Aruba’s 10 years celebration.This was done by Mrs.Jennifer Kock who also as a youth was a scout and was very happy to be present at the ceremony .

After this the Scouting Groups joined in a parade which was led by Saint George on his faithful horse which caught the attention of all the kids ,youth ,parents and by standers.

The parade ended in front of the Neptalie Henriquez Park wher e also the scout and explorer sections were going to have a week-end camp.

Caribbean Chief Conference 2010

15-17 April 2010 Scouting Aruba participated at the CCC at Nassau ,Bahamas
Scouting Aruba was represented by Chief Commissioner Elson Barry and Training Commissioner John Hessen
Present were delegates from Aruba ,Netherland Antilles ,British Virgin Islands,Jamaica ,Guyana,Trinidad,Suriname ,Panama.

Also from the ISC Mr.Bradshaw was present and the Executive for the Caribbean Mr.Ronald Richardson

Youth X-po 2010

During the week-end of March 27^th & 28^th, 2010 the Aruban government organized for the second time Youth Xpo.

During this event all foundations and association on the island could show to the Aruban community what they have to offer for the children and youth of Aruba.

Scouting Aruba for the second time was present at this event at a booth talking to the kids, youth and parents what Scouting has to offer. Many were impressed and interested in the positive contribution of scouting on the island. This event was also a meeting point for persons who were in scouting and when seeing the displayed information and video brought wonderful memories of their years in scouting and how positive it has been for them in their lives.

Also several scout groups were present enjoying of the event but also promoting scouting while passing at all the booths.

B I B E 2010

During the weekend of 20^th, and 21^st of March 2010, there was a national camp held for the Beaver Section, children between the ages of 5 and 7 years.

At this event the Beavers did activities to develop their Creativity, Physical and Social characteristics. This included, learning by doing and a visit to ‘Santa Rosa’.

The activities gave the beavers lots of possibility to do games by having fun and ways to expend their mind.

In total there were about 60 Beavers members of 6 different groups.
